It is rumored that Netflix is working on supporting Spatial Audio for AirPods users.
Spatial Audio is what Apple calls the immersive sound function of its AirPods.
With the help of sensors and directional audio, you can track where your head is in relation to the device you’re listening to the content on.
It essentially creates an immersive sound experience.
This is good when you are watching a movie or TV because you can feel the direction of the sound as if you were in the movie or TV series yourself.
In order to enjoy Spatial Audio on AirPods while watching TV, you must be viewing content from a platform that supports it.
Currently these platforms are Apple TV, Disney +, and Hulu.
Now it seems like Netflix wants to join that list anonymous source.
SlashGear Netflix has reportedly been working on enabling Spatial Audio for AirPods since December.
Rumor has it that the feature could be ready by spring 2021.
However, the feature is likely not available for all content.
You will also need AirPods Pro or AirPods Max to benefit from them.
