Singapore doesn’t love it.
The new McDonald’s Chick ‘N’ Cheese Burger has caused anger among some dyspeptic customers who think online about the “disgusting” “terrible” and real “chum bucket”.
The sandwich, currently only available at the chain’s locations in Southeast Asia, includes crispy chicken, lettuce, sweet tomato and chilli jam, and a patty made from fried mozzarella cheese. For the most part, a slice of American cheese is also thrown in.
The new sandwich was also revealed with two accompanying sides: Pizza McShaker Fries and Ha! Chicken drums.
The rollout of the sandwich, which launched last week and will only be available for a limited time according to McDonald’s, was heavily promoted in Singapore.
“Check out the cheese in our new Chick ‘N’ Cheese Burger,” says the chain wrote on Instagram last week. “It’s stacked with ingredients from bun to bun that will take your taste buds to the next level!”
If this sounds too good to be true, according to customers from Singapore who chose social media, it is their disappointment to express their disappointment with the new item.
“It’s not worth it,” said one Instagram user pointedly. “I was very disappointed with the cheese. Something about the flavors didn’t gel well. “
Charles Tan said on Facebook, “Definitely a no go for me, including the pages.” Jonathan Lee put it simply: “Overwhelming.”
“The cheese pie was so disappointingly mushy,” wrote another Facebook user who goes from ZY Huang.
And one user on Twitter equated the sandwich with “the real life buddy”.
Another has the McDonald’s Twitter account and tagged it said“Nobody asked about this nonsense. Bring back snack wraps and drop the Chick ‘N’ Cheese Burgers. “
